Be the calm to their chaos, with fuss-free lifetime cover.

Your cat is a mystery. Your insurance should be simple.

Pets are unpredictable. Be prepared, with lifetime cover.
With lifetime cover from £3,000 to £15,000, including dental, peace of mind comes as standard. Plus, you get plenty of extra benefits, too.
*Based on YouGov survey, 26–27 Nov 2025. 55% of 1,084 UK pet owners trust Pets at Home. Total sample: 2,111 adults. Figures weighted.
Pet insurance isn’t compulsory. But if anything were to happen to your pet, you’d want to be able to get them the care they need without worrying about how you’re going to pay your vet’s bills.
Pets Insurance only offer Lifetime cover, with a set cover limit (from £3,000 to £15,000) that renews each year. This means that, if your policy is renewed with us, any illnesses, accidents or health issues that develop during the policy term will be covered if they meet our terms and conditions within your policy documents.
Important things to note
While lifetime insurance offers the highest level of reassurance, all policies have terms and exclusions. Our policies do not cover:

Every Pets Insurance policy is a Lifetime policy. This means we’ll pay your vet’s fees for any new illnesses or accidents that develop after your policy starts*, for as long as you stay with us.
Because cover refreshes annually, long‑term or recurring conditions that develop during the policy term remain protected year after year. And there’s no per-condition limit. But do remember to always check the full terms and conditions of your policy for any cover exclusions. We offer the following annual cover limits:

From claim to payout, we chase the vet, you chase your pet.

Pets Insurance doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions that developed before your policy start date.
* Claims can only be paid for health issues that occur after the policy waiting period. That’s 48 hours from your cover start date for accidents and 14 days for illnesses.
The Pets Insurance excess and co-payment are contributions you choose to make towards any claims your vet submits. Opting to contribute more will help keep your premiums down. And don’t worry, we’ll calculate everything for you!
Excess
Your excess is the set amount you agree to pay towards any claim when you set up your Pets Insurance policy. You’ll only pay this once per policy year and only if you make a claim.
We offer vet fee excesses of £100, £150, £200.
For complementary therapies, the excess is only £50. And for any third-party liability claims, you’ll pay an excess of £250.
Co-pay
Co-pay is a percentage you pay towards any claims you make for vet fees. You choose your co-pay percentage when you take out your Pets Insurance policy. We’ll deduct this from your vet’s bill after your excess is deducted.
We offer co-pay options of 0%, 10%, 20%. Once your pet reaches the following ages, a compulsory co-pay will replace your voluntary contribution:
Dog: Age dependent on breed - compulsory co-pay of 20%
Cat: Age dependent on breed - compulsory co-pay of 20%
Here’s an example of co-pay and excess in action:
At Pets Insurance we love all pets.
As we start on our insurance journey, we will not be covering older pets to begin with. The age we will cover up to (at the moment) depends on the breed of your pet. We’ll be covering older animals soon, so please check back.
Please remember we only offer lifetime cover, which means we will cover any new illnesses your pet may develop once insured with us. This means, like most insurers, we will not cover any pre-existing conditions your pet may have so please keep this in mind when looking for cover with a new provider.
We don't yet offer a multi-pet policy. However, we can cover each of your pets on separate Pets Insurance policies, and you’ll be able to keep all of their individual policies together in your Pets Insurance Hub.
Each pet will have their own cover limit, and you’ll be able to see any remaining cover balances they have in their individual policy dashboard. But you’ll make all of your pets’ policy payments together on your preferred date, as one simple monthly charge.
